Nothing is technically perfect, which also applies to the master water-meters. One of the methods how to monitor the metering is to place an auxiliary check water-meter behind the master water-meter.

The purchase price beginning with €40 is not too high as compared to its possible benefit. The comparison of metering accuracy either confirms that everything is OK, or bears out a suspicion. The subsequent step includes an application to verify the master water-meter's metering accuracy, sent to a water company or a metrological institute. Without the above-mentioned preliminary comparison, there is only a rumour or cost unnecessarily incurred for verification.
